Some tradio user and role questions/ thoughts

I have created two roles Field Editor & Senior Editor. The Senior Editor manages the content of the whole tradio site.

A Field Editor role is for people who are working in different capacities of counter trafficking efforts to post articles and updates of their work.

We have not set up the "notes from the field" section yet.

We probably won't set up notes from the field for several more months.

Currently there are "print" and "audio" stories. t-media I think is set up as a page, but that will need to become a story as well.

I will be posting almost all of the audio.

My hope is that tradio will be able to get people working in the field to write articles on different subjects related to trafficking, particularly those that are not getting much coverage in the media or at conferences.

I also really would like people who are working in the field to write their thoughts on the media's coverage of human trafficking.

I see three options in Drupal for giving Field Editors the ability to submit print pieces.

The first is that Field Editor roles have permissions to submit stories, and they have to chose what type it is -I could simply tell them through alternative correspondences.

From what I can tell Drupal does not allow you to "cordone off" particular classes of types. ie. audio vs tmedia.

My reasoning for wanting to "cordone" off certain sections is more for ease of use then trying to be restrictive of the site. It would also prevent people from accidentally posting articles to the wrond section.

The second would be that articles, be they media analysis or other, are submitted to me and I post it associating them as the author...

The third is to allow the Field Editor role to submit, but that it will not be published until approved. This way I could do a check to make sure that it is headed toward the correct category & maintain control over what is posting to the front page.

In thinking this through, I think "notes from the field" will be of type blog. That gives the freedom of the day to day type updates that are fitting for notes from the field.

Print articles are probably best submitted and then I'll get them to the correct section at appropriate times.

So notes from the field will be a blog.

Audio, print, t-media are stories.

The Field Editor role will have open access to update their blogs as they wish.

Most likely the Field Editor will have the ability to submit stories, but the stories will be queued for approval by the Senior Editor role.
